Our History
Founded by Claudia Mangan in 1974, the Rockville Civic Ballet is a City-Managed community arts group. Ms. Mangan established a thriving ballet company for our Rockville Community on the value that ballet belongs to all of us. Members come from all walks of life and work cooperatively to present affordable quality performances. Rockville Civic Ballet's Mission
Classical ballet evolved out of court dances in Renaissance Europe and has long been the purview of the elite.
